(A) Open an image file in AISO (e.g. a Chamerion angustifolium flower) (B) Mark the “foreground” (red line): the aspect of the image you would like to segment. (C) Mark the “background” (blue line): the area of the image you want to ignore. (NOTE: Auto-segmentation occurs after the background is marked; further refinement of both foreground and background is possible.)
