PhIS schema. The image entity is the core meta-data object and stores generic, immutable meta-data such as imaging procedure and details, data source, credits and sample information, genotype or sample preparation techniques. The channel entity stores visualization information, such as tags or labels and genomic information when needed, such as for expression images. The ROI entity holds both the coordinates, within the given image, and the annotation values
