Example of a manually created top-level hierarchy mapping. The four classes from NCIt and SNOMED CT were matched by the matching system, and all four mappings were present in the reference alignments (true positive). Analyzing the top-level hierarchies reveals that NCIt classes are descendants of Anatomic Structure, System, or Substance and SNOMED CT classes of Body structure. A manual mapping between those top-level classes can then be created for NCIt-SNOMED CT
